IcoScan: Acquisition software for functional ultrasound

IcoScan is our software module for setting up fUS experiments and acquiring data. It integrates with and controls the robotic scanning platform, enabling precise and automated probe movements for comprehensive imaging studies.

High-sensitivity imaging

Ultrafast plane wave imaging and optimized signal processing ensures maximum sensitivity, for exceptional image quality.

B-Mode imaging option

A standard ‘brightness mode’ ultrasound imaging option helps you ensure the probe is accurately positioned before you start fUS imaging.

Fully customizable parameters

IcoScan allows all parameters to be easily adjusted according to the needs of each experiment, so there’s no limit to what you can do!

Live data visualization

A real-time display allows you to see imaging data as it comes in, helping you save time by making adjustments on-the-fly if necessary.

Easy synchronization and scheduling

Using IcoScan and the multiple BNC ports on every Iconeus One system, you can connect-up third-party lab instruments, and easily synchronize recordings across them: EEG signals, video recordings, and more can all be aligned with millisecond precision.

IcoStudio uses machine learning algorithms to co-register any fUS image of the mouse brain to the Allen Mouse Brain Atlas in just one click, making segmentation of images easier and enhancing interpretation of results.

Using our ‘Brain positioning system’ (BPS™) feature, you can select any structure or region in the brain, and the probe will automatically move to the right location. The result is more consistent probe positioning, and hence greater reproducibility between subjects.

The analysis submodules of IcoStudio deliver results in seconds, keeping your work on schedule for everything from task-induced activation to resting-state functional connectivity
