We’re bolstering our applications team to support the growing global adoption of fUS.

Applications support is crucial for any emerging technology, and so we’re pleased to welcome two new Application Specialists to the fold – Pia Pelaez and Sara Romanzi.

Pia graduated from McGill University, where she investigated the limits of working memory in rodents and analyzed electrophysiological data acquired from non-human primates. She later completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Neuroscience at University College London, where she also worked on a virtual reality module designed to reduce the risk of post-traumatic stress disorder in forensic police officers.

Sara completed her Ph.D. in Neuroscience and Neurotechnology at the Italian Institute of Technology and the University of Genoa, focusing on astrocyte–neuron interactions in the hippocampus during complex behaviors in mice, using advanced optical imaging and chemogenetic approaches. She also holds a Master’s degree in Medical Biotechnology from the University of Milan and the University of Copenhagen where she investigated the role of astrocytic calcium signalling in brain slices using optical and molecular methods.

With their strong neuroscience backgrounds, we’re sure that Pia and Sara will be valuable team assets – helping researchers better understand the potential of fUS and supporting them in integrating fUS technology into their research.
